Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure passed away following his automobile collided and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday, according to.
