2K Games has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Management Transition Follows Mixed Response
Brinkman steps into the role of studio head at 31st Union following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to the game's underwhelming initial reveal last fall.
Recently, the company's top executive a key figure updated staff about this organizational change through an official communication, which emphasized that playtesting had revealed the need for a clearer vision.

Below is the complete content from Ismailer's memo:
Team—
I know you all just completed your meeting - I hope you’re as thrilled as I am with the good news. Previously I sent you all a message, I expressed the following: “I believe in this group. You all are some of the most dedicated and creative designers we have had the opportunity to partner with - and we’re eager for that partnership to continue.”
Given your hard work and adaptability, especially over the past twelve months, you consistently demonstrate that.
The gamer responses from last autumn’s Project ETHOS demo was revealing. It confirmed the promise of a action-packed game but made clear we still had refinements needed. It revealed the necessity for a more distinct brand.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve advanced. You embraced the input to mind and overhauled Project ETHOS with a revitalized vision - one that’s poised to fulfill its potential to our audience.
The trust in Project ETHOS increases every day. To boost the outstanding advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce the new hire as the new Lead of 31st Union. After several months of conversations, Ben officially joins us on Monday, October 20.
Ben’s leadership and expertise in the PVP shooter field is vast, having spent the past decade and a half developing and overseeing some of the most popular franchises in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and more recently, Apex Legends.
Let’s together in greeting him next week. We are all looking forward to persist witnessing the development of the game in the months to ahead.
